Delayed sales and complicated deals, Chelsea are running out of time in the market

Chelsea are running out of time in the current summer market after the season kick off last weekend with a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge to Crystal Palace in a frustrating afternoon for the world champions.

What did we learn from that draw against Palace?

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace in the Premier League

Chelsea lacked the intensity in the attack against the low blocked Crystal Palace after the Blues had enjoyed a flying run in the Club World Cup, raising the bar for expectations the new season in the Premier League.

Chelsea looked disjointed in the final third, could not create many chances and had few solutions to penetrate the well organised Crystal Palace defence.

The substitutions of Enzo Maresca in the second half; Liam Delap and Estevao did not change the result though the Brazilian wonderkid showed glimpses of his skills.

The draw reminded us with the unfinished business in the market for Chelsea in terms of reinforcements and what would the new signings offer?

Delayed Sales

Christopher Nkunku

The sales menu in Chelsea are fully stacked and the time is chasing the London giants in this summer to offload those players.

The likes of Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, Nikolas Jackson, Tyrique George, Renato Veiga, Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi are the ones who the club are desperate to part ways from.

Can Chelsea accelerate this process before the end of the summer market?

A huge work from the sporting directors at Chelsea is needed to accelerate this process in order to adjust the financial budgets, lower the wage bills, clear the way for the new signings and bring the peace to Enzo Maresca dressing room.

Complicate deals

Chelsea's opener in the Premier League proved that the road is not easy for the world's champions this season, many teams will copy Palace game style at Stamford Bridge especially middle and lower table teams.

So, Chelsea would not afford to lose points in similar matches and the need for versatile attackers like Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons emerges increasingly.

Simons and Garnacho will add the creative solutions, enhance the efficiency of the attack and connect the voids in upfront system.

All the ways lead to more activity in the coming days for Chelsea, and the success of Blues objectives may depend on those sales and those deals.
